OUR STORY
The business grew through hands-on trade experience, word-of-mouth referrals and long-term relationships with homeowners, builders, businesses, insurers and project clients.
Today, Matt and Katie lead a small, accountable team delivering building works, renovations, extensions, outdoor living areas, sheds, repairs, fit-outs and regional or remote projects.
Because the team lives and works in Darwin, each project is approached with a practical understanding of local conditions, access, materials, logistics and the way Territory properties need to perform.
Clients deal directly with the people responsible for planning and delivering the work. This creates clearer communication, practical advice and genuine accountability from the first enquiry through to completion.
LOCAL KNOWLEDGE
Building in the Northern Territory requires more than general trade experience. Heat, humidity, heavy rain, termites, corrosion, freight delays and remote access can all influence how a project should be planned and delivered.
M&K Carpentry brings practical local knowledge to material selection, construction methods, scheduling and site coordination. The focus is always on delivering work that suits the property, the intended use and the conditions in which it needs to perform.

LOCAL AND TRUSTED

COMMUNITY COMMISSION
Selected to build the Cyclone Tracy Sound Booth for the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory’s 50th anniversary exhibition.
The project required careful workmanship and attention to detail, contributing to an important local exhibition that recognises a defining part of Darwin’s history.
REPAIR AND REINSTATEMENT PROJECTS
Approved repair and reinstatement works are delivered for insurers and loss adjusters across the Northern Territory.
Each project is managed in line with the approved scope, site conditions and coordination requirements, with a focus on clear communication and completing the work properly.

COMMUNITY FACILITY UPGRADE
The Darwin Entertainment Centre change rooms were upgraded while preserving and refreshing the original design, improving the comfort and functionality of the facilities for visiting entertainers.
The works delivered a practical renewal of the existing spaces while respecting the character of one of Darwin’s established entertainment venues.

LOCAL SCHOOL PROJECT
A new playground platform at Anula Primary School created a practical outdoor feature for students to use and enjoy.
The project also held a personal connection for Matt and Katie, whose children attended the school, making the work especially meaningful for their family.
OUR COMMUNITY
Strong communities are built through the clubs, teams, volunteers and events that bring people together. Supporting local initiatives is one way Matt and Katie give back to the Territory community that continues to support their family business.
